Once the first snows have fallen, the Harz takes on its winter magic. It may not be the Alps, but it does offer everything that you could wish for from a winter paradise holiday. The slopes are well maintained and affordable. The cross country treks provide 500 kilometres of freshly laid cross country ski tracks, well signposted and lots of stops along the way for needed refreshments. |
| The ski resorts of Harz are ideal for beginner and advance. There are fun parks for snowboarders, toboggan runs, snow - tubing, sledging, ice skating, winter walking and ice climbing. The skiing is both Alpine and cross country. Many of the slopes are illuminated at night and places such as Braunlage have cross county trails lit up at night which enables you to ski in the late evening. |
