Museum at the Ritterhaus (knights house)
A knight-like figure that is affixed to the facade of the building gave this Museum its name. The museum was established in 1936 and has been since a starting point for the history of Osterode and the Sudharz.

The Alte Rathaus (1552)
The old town hall was rebuilt in 1552, after the previous one burnt in the great town fire down.
In the cellar of this historic town hall, you can enjoy food and drink in the old Ratskeller restaurant.

St. Jacobi Schlosskirche
Excavations revealed that in the 12th Century was a chapel, in the vicinity of the oldest market in Osterode.
A fundamental transformation of the church took place 1751/1752.
The west and east wing were 1894 - 1899 demolished. Today you only have north wing (the nave), and the south wing preserved. Inside you can see the altar, the organ of Engelhard, a famous epitaph of Peter Hartzing and the Romanesque Baptistery.
